DPSS CAMPAIGN

Brand Identity & Campaign Design
Project Overview
With the need for a new campaign in attracting attention and gaining popularity for the Division of Public Safety and Security at the University of Michigan,  this project aimed to represent the DPSS in a refreshed, approachable, and modernized light through a series of posters.
During an Advanced Poster Design class at the University of Michigan, a collaboration with the Division of Public Safety and Security was initiated to provide the organization with a series of six promotional posters. Each were required to highlight a given theme provided.

In making something truly resonating, the mundane nature of the general poster and graphic material coverage around campus and Ann Arbor, Michigan, had become quite apparent as something to avoid. Furthermore, the general unappealing and unapproachable nature of many police and law enforcement related material stuck out as points that needed to be addressed. This identity aimed to tackle its audience before the message.

By creating a unique and eye-catching shape, and pairing it vibrantly with the DPSS color palette as opposed to that of the University of Michigan, this intriguing, different, and unmistakable piece is conceived. It aims to first attract the individual through its relative oddity, and to then provide the necessary information without boring users with an overuse of text. The deeper required information can instead be found quickly through the QR code.
